The inaugural New York Bartender Week is set to launch from November 18-24 in the Hudson Valley and across New York State. This first-of-its-kind celebration will feature 141 local bars and highlight the craftsmanship of 54 New York artisanal spirits brands, honoring the bartenders, barbacks, and bar owners who bring these flavors to life.
Over the course of the week, patrons are invited to support their favorite bartenders by visiting participating bars and enjoying special cocktails crafted with New York State spirits. These themed creations will offer a distinctive twist on the classics, adding a local touch that showcases the Empire Stateโs diverse range of spirits.
And with the stateโs new direct-to-consumer shipping law for distilleries going live on November 16, New York Bartender Week is well-timed to provide a platform for cocktail lovers to get to know a new New Yorkโs homegrown spirit and celebrate the newfound accessibility of these products.
With bars from 29 cities, towns, and villages joining the festivities, thereโs something for everyone from cozy neighborhood restaurants to upscale cocktail lounges.ย While the lionโs share of participating bars and restaurants are in New York City, a dozen local spots have joined the fun. In Dutchess County, head to Current Cassis tasting room in Rhinebeckย and Paul Brady Wineย in Beacon; in Orange County both Jayne Street Distilling Co. in Florida and Stagecoach Innย in Goshen will be participating. In downtown Hudson, conceptual cocktail The Hereafterย will be serving themed cocktails with New York State spirits, and outside the city, Klocke Estateย and Quinnieโsย will also participate. Ulster County has the highest concentration of participating bars with six on the map for 2024: Innessย in Accord, The Dutchย in Saugerties; Butterfieldย in Stone Ridge; and in Kingston, Lone Wolf, LOLA, and Mirador.
In a state that recently welcomed over 306 million visitors, generating $88 billion in direct spending, New York Bartender Week reflects both the stateโs vibrant tourism scene and its commitment to supporting local artisans. This week-long festival offers an exciting opportunity to discover the best of New Yorkโs bartending talent and savor the local flavors that make it special.
