As regulations loosen around recreational use of cannabis products, the date 4/20 has become ubiquitous, even mainstream. But there’s another recently established holiday celebrated by the real aficionados of cannabis culture—and The Pass is here for it.
It’s July 10, or 710 as it’s commonly known. Also known as Dab Day, it's a day set aside for cannabis oil products, dabs, or concentrates. Turn “710” on its head—like your parents and grands probably did with their old-school calculators—and it spells OIL. In cannabis terms, oil describes highly potent products like hash oil, shatter, wax, and others.
The niche holiday is catching on at dispensaries, including The Pass in Sheffield, Massachusetts. “7/10 is the biggest hash and concentrate day of the year, where cannabis consumers and hash-makers celebrate the craft of extraction and hash-making,” says Patrick Elliot, The Pass’ Field Marketing and Events Specialist.
Concentrates are growing in popularity as legalization grows across the country; it’s quickly becoming widespread as a way to easily enjoy cannabis.
