Mark your calendars, gypsy jazz fans. When it comes to the living disciples of the legendary guitar genius Django Reinhardt, the greatest is Frank Vignola. Seeing him play up close is an experience no lover of fine music will forget, and on October he returns to one of his favorite haunts, the Rosendale Café, in the company of Finnish guitar master Olli Soikkeli.

Raised on Long Island, Vignola has been performing Reinhardt’s music since the late 1980s, when he led a Hot Club of France tribute band at Michael’s Pub in Manhattan. In 2000, he served as the musical director and coorganizer of the Django Reinhardt Festival in New York.

Cast your ears and eyes upon this vid of Vignola, Soikkeli, and Vinny Raniolo tearing it up on “Belleville”:

Frank Vignola and Olli Soikkeli will perform at the Rosendale Café in Rosendale, New York, on October 22 at 8pm. Tickets are $20. For more information, call (845) 658-9048 or visit http://rosendalecafe.com/.
