Winter is Coming! Embrace Cold Weather Family Activities at Frost Valley YMCA | Branded Content | Outdoors | Hudson Valley | Chronogram Magazine

Just because it’s cooling down outside, it doesn’t mean you need to resign yourself to boring days on the couch with video games and Netflix. Frost Valley YMCA’s fall and winter programs and activities offer up countless opportunities to stay active, get some fresh (cold) air, and make lasting memories with your whole family.

In addition to taking in the beautiful Hudson Valley views (made more stunning by the fall and winter colors), Frost Valley YMCA offers indoor rock climbing and archery, ropes courses, seasonally-themed arts and crafts, outdoor survival classes, rocket building and launching, and snow tubing, snow shoe hikes, and cross country skiing (weather permitting).

Just 2.5 hours from NYC, in the heart of the Catskills, Frost Valley YMCA is open weekends from September through June, with special family weekend opportunities during the fall and winter months.
There’s Columbus Day Weekend (October 11-14), Halloween Themed Weekends (October 19-20, 25-27, and November 1-3), Crafting Weekend (November 15-17), Festival of the Holidays Weekend (December 6-8), Martin Luther King Weekend (January 17-20), and Presidents’ Holiday Retreats (February 14-17), and more. For each of these opportunities, meals are included and a variety of lodging is available.

To register your family for a weekend retreat, contact Frost Valley by email at [email protected] or via phone at 845-985-2291 ext. 450. Look for information about Family Winter Weekends and other events online.
