The Peekskill Extension Center of Westchester Community College is the place to start your first year at college. The center is in Northern Westchester, close to Putnam County, and provides an intimate experience for credit and non-credit students seeking associates/transfer opportunities or workforce development.
You can take all of your core requirements at the center to begin your associates or certificate pathway. The center offers a full array of student services on site including academic and financial aid counseling, personal counseling, benefits access, registration, bursar, tutoring, technical support, student activities and more. For adult students looking to change careers or to retool, the center offers non-credit certificates such as 3D Animation and User Experience Design as well as other web programming and digital design training. Located in the downtown artist district of the City of Peekskill, the center is a part of the life-blood of the region’s economic pipeline to industry and the community. This city is a media hub and showcases digital media companies and arts and culture organizations. This is why this specialized facility is equipped with the latest technology in digital media and a Maker Space with 3D printing.
The center programs professional gallery exhibitions, lectures, and events that attract the business and professional community. It also hosts a job fair for its students each year to better introduce them to business professionals. All students are provided with lab access during all operational hours. Professionals may access our specialized resources through our Open Access package, which is a daily or semester subscription to the center.
The center also offers a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Youth Arts Technology program, which provides seven to 17 year olds rigorous training in digital technologies, game design, programming, and robotics.
In addition, the center offers English as a Second Language that serves students from various backgrounds and countries and continues to be active in outreaching to the surrounding community.
