These Hudson Craft Breweries are Open for Outdoor Drinking | Craft Beverage Industry | Hudson Valley | Chronogram Magazine

Summer is here darlings. The sun is out and the state is reopening. While we know you've been drinking all pandemic long (your online orders, curbside pickups, and growler fills have quite literally kept our region's craft breweries afloat), how good will it be to get in the car and go somewhere to have a beer outside with friends? We could cry. But instead, we rounded up a list of Hudson Valley craft breweries offering outdoor seating so you can sip in the sunshine.

And please remember, you are required to wear a mask whenever you leave your table (for ordering, bathroom, settling up, etc.) and DON'T move the tables—these breweries have gone through the trouble of setting up everything to meet SLA requirements. Skol!

Arrowood Farm Brewery + Outpost | Accord, New Paltz

Hammock-laying, sheep whispering, hopyard wandering, and corn hole—all staples of the Arrowood Farm Brewery experience—have always been social distancing-compliant, and will all return this weekend for on-farm fun. Plus you'll catch a glips of the brewery's shiny new taphouse, kitchen, and brewing facility. Sip on their latest brews and speciality cocktails and peep the new menu, including the build-your-own picnic basket option. Arrowood Farm Brewery will be open Friday and Saturday 12-8pm and Sunday 12-6pm. Their New Paltz outpost is also open for outdoor seating this weekend with the same hours.

Obercreek Brewing Company | Wappingers Falls

With 14 acres, you'll have plenty of space to spread out at this organic-certified produce and herb farm. Three-year-old Obercreek Brewing uses ingredients from its own farm and other New York State producers to create a wide range of IPAs, farmhouse ales, and other styles. They currently have four beers on tap including an American coffee stout and three, yes three, IPAs.

Plan Bee Farm Brewery | Poughkeepsie

This bucolic brewery, sited on a 25-acre working farm, uses exclusively New York-grown ingredients for their signature barrel-aged and wild-fermented brews. All the beer at Plan Bee is made with yeast cultivated from bees on the farm. This weekend's draft pours include simply titled beers showcasing farm-fresh ingredients like Nasturtium, a zingy ale with the distinctive peppery flavor of the namesake flower petals, and Pepper, an oak-aged wild ale with heat, featuring more than eight pepper varieties grown onsite.

Kingston Standard | Kingston

Slurp down some oysters, pack in a lobster roll, soak up the sunshine, and throw back a beer at the picnic table in the tidy lil' fenced-in biergarten of this Midtown Kingston microbrewery. Kingston Standard is open Friday, through Sunday, 1-8pm for socially distanced onsite drinking.

Zeus Brewing | Poughkeepsie

Enjoy panoramic views of the Hudson River, Catskill Mountains, Poughkeepsie, and the Walkway over the Hudson when you reserve a rooftop table at this nascent brewery. Zeus Brewing opened up as soon as they could on June 9 and will be open seven days a week for outdoor dining, serving up their beers and a full food menu. The rules: max 6 people per resy with a $100 deposit.

West Kill Brewing | Westkill

A bit off the beaten path, West Kill Brewing in Greene County, surrounded by thousands of acres of preserved forest and serving up delicious beers brewed with mountain spring water, is well worth the day trip. They have expansive lawns and a big ol' deck where you can enjoy their latest brews like Creekside, a dry-hopped kettle sour, or their Backwoods IPA series.

Newburgh Brewing | Newburgh

Though they don't have a designated patio space, Newburgh Brewing is literally rolling out the barrels for sidewalk sipping this weekend. And what's more classic Western than sipping a beer al fresco at a barrel high-top? This weekend they're serving two draft beers for onsite drankin': Amaizing Corn Lager and Bonnboss NEIPA, as well as food. They're open for curbside four-pack pickup and draft drinking Friday 3-7pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm.
