Hudson Valley Dance Festival in Catskill | Dance | Hudson Valley | Chronogram Magazine

On October 8, the Hudson Valley Dance Festival will return once again to the historic Catskill Point waterfront park, bringing world-class dance performances to the banks of the Hudson River in Catskill.

Organized by Dancers Responding to AIDS (a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS), the festival will bring an all-embracing range of dance styles. Performing companies include Dorrance Dance featuring Michelle Dorrance; Ladies of Hip-Hop Dance Collective featuring Khadijah Siferllah; choreographer Abdullatif, sharing a pas de deux featuring The Metropolitan Opera’s Holly Curran; Broadway Bares associate director and choreographer Jonathan Lee; Limón Dance Company; choreographer Skyla Schreter; Stephen Petronio Company; and Adam H. Weinert (Jacob’s Pillow).

Since the event started in 2013, Hudson Valley Dance Festival has raised $1 million. The money helps Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS provide grants to AIDS and family service organizations nationwide. Ticket purchases will help provide meals and medication, health care, and hope to those in need across the country, including at 14 organizations based in the Hudson Valley. All attendees must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and wear a mask.

The Hudson Valley Dance Festival will be held at Catskill Point in Catskill on October 8. Performances will take place at 2pm and 5pm. Tickets are $40-$275. For tickets and information, see the Dancers Responding to AIDS website.
