Mirah and Jherek Bischoff

Here’s an intriguing pairing: Brooklyn indie singer-songwriter Mirah and Los Angeles musical sage Jherek Bischoff, who will kick off a collaborative tour with a performance at BSP on May 10.

Mirah has been creating music since the late 90s, releasing on labels such as K and Kill Rock Stars and working with artists such as Tune-Yards, Phil Elverum, and others. Bischoff is a composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist who’s collaborated with David Byrne, Neil Gaiman, Kronos Quartet, Amanda Palmer, and more and has composed for stage and screen. For the tour, the two will reimagine tracks from both of their catalogs as well as new tracks from their upcoming albums. They’ll be joined by a string quartet and such guest musicians as Deerhoof’s Greg Saunier.
